Lindsey Weaver, a daughter of new Tree Links Golf Course owners Craig and Sandra Weaver, was named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association honorable mention All-American this week after an impressive spring campaign for the Notre Dame women’s golf team.
A freshman, Weaver helped the Irish capture their fifth Big East Conference title and earn their sixth straight NCAA regional appearance. She shared co-medalist honors with teammate Talia Campbell at the conference tournament with a six-under total of 210 for three rounds.
At the regional tournament, she shot rounds of 72, 73 and 77 to finish 39th.
Weaver was tabbed the Big East player of the year and the Big East freshman of the year. She was the conference’s player of the month for October. She finished the fall portion of the schedule as the number one ranked golfer on the Golfstat rankings.
She plans to offer her knowledge of the game to local youth golfers during a free junior clinic at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29. More information can be obtained at the course.
