Shady Bowl Speedway fans were treated to a stellar night of speed as the rural oval hosted its annual Robbie Dean Memorial Late Model Classic on Saturday. The pit area was packed with 27 late models that included some of the finest cars and drivers in the midwest.

The 94-lap main saw Greg Stapleton set a torrid pace near the end of the race as he headed for the checkered flag.
However, veteran driver Don Mahaffey worked his way back to the lead pack. Out front, Nathan Herron had closed up on Stapleton’s rear bumper and was looking for a way by. The laps finally ran out, with Stapleton taking the win ahead of Herron, Mahaffey, Chad Pendleton and Justin Alsip.
