Tyler Frantz picked up a singles win to highlight Bellefontaine’s trip to the sectional tournament Tuesday in Troy.
The Chiefs were unable to advance any of their players to the district tournament, but Frantz did record a victory in singles action.
Frantz defeated Creighton of Yellow Springs 6-3, 6-3 before falling to Wiggins of Northeastern 6-0, 6-0.
“That was a nice win for Tyler,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jim Stein. “That was a good experience for him.”
In other singles action, Bellefontaine’s Logan Raney lost to Pensworth of Greenon 7-6, 6-4 and the Chiefs’ Dean Smith fell to Day of Yellow Springs 6-1, 6-2.
“Dean has played doubles for us and he got a chance to try singles,” said Stein. “I thought he did a pretty good job.”
