Bellefontaine’s tennis team falls to Tecumseh

Bellefontaine’s boys tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to host Tecumseh on Monday in Central Buckeye Conference action.

The Chiefs are now 0-13 overall and 0-11 in the CBC. The Arrows are now 8-4 in league play.
“We pushed them some, but we just couldn’t break through to win a match,” said BHS head coach Jim Stein.

Bellefontaine’s Rohan Prasad was defeated 6-3, 7-5 by Alex Eben at first singles, the Chiefs’ Tyler Frantz lost 6-0, 6-0 to Brandon Pursiful at second singles and Bellefontaine’s Logan Raney fell to Andy Fiorita 7-6, 6-2 at third singles.

The Arrows’ Connor Mersel and Connor Badurka prevailed 6-1, 6-2 over Patrick Tarasiewicz and John Beach at first doubles, while Tecumseh’s Austin Finch and Ryan Kelly won 6-0, 6-0 over Adam Verbsky and Dean Smith at second doubles.

Bellefontaine’s Michael Coakley fell 8-0 in a reserve singles match. The Chiefs’ Josh Kruetzer and Isaiah Brady lost 8-1 in reserve doubles action.

The Chiefs are back in action Wednesday at home against Lima Shawnee.
