Urbana surprised host Benjamin Logan with some early runs Tuesday and held on to win 4-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference softball matchup.

The Raiders run ruled the Hillclimbers 15-5 in six innings Monday.
With Tuesday’s loss, the Raiders slip to 10-5 overall and 5-2 in the CBC. Urbana bumps its mark to 6-10, 4-3.
Urbana drove in two runs in the top of the second inning and added one more run in the top of the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Hillclimbers another run in the fifth inning for a 4-0 score.
Ben Logan was unable to get any offense going as Urbana held on for the win.
Kate Campbell went 2-3 to lead the Raiders at the plate.

Tigers edge M’burg
West Liberty-Salem’s softball team clipped visiting Mechanicsburg for a 9-8 win on Monday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Tigers even their record to 7-7 overall and are 5-4 in the OHC.
Mechanicsburg held a 5-3 lead after the top of the third inning.
WL-Salem came back to score four runs in the bottom of the third frame to take a 7-5 lead.
The Indians fought back and scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning, which gave them an 8-7 advantage.
The Tigers would not go away and scored one run in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game 1-1. They went on to plate the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Melany Ward earned the win in the pitching circle and went 2-3 with a home run and two RBI at the plate. Autumn Klinger went 3-4 and Rachel Loffing went 2-4.
WL-Salem hosts Miami East on Thursday in non-league action.

Pirates sink Gophers
Riverside’s softball team dropped host Ridgemont 11-1 in five innings on Tuesday in a local Northwest Central Conference game.
The win improves the Pirates to 10-5 overall and 3-0 in the NWCC.
