Tippecanoe held on for a 7-6 win over host Bellefontaine on Tuesday in a Central Buckeye Conference softball contest.

The Chieftains fall to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in the CBC, while the Red Devils improve to 15-4, 9-0.
“We played a really tough game against Tippecanoe,” said BHS head coach Katie Buffkin. “We played seven strong innings, but just were not able to pull it out.
“I am very proud of how the girls played. They went all out for seven strong innings and never quit. I hope they continue to play with that intensity and our time will come.”
Tippecanoe held a 5-3 lead after three innings and added two more runs in the top of the fifth inning for a 7-3 advantage.
Bellefontaine scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to trail 7-6.
The Chiefs were able to advance a base runner to third base with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but could not get in the tying run.
Offensively for the Chiefs, Carley Strzalka went 3-4 with a double and a triple, Addi Brown went 2-3 with two RBI, MacKenzie Brunswick had a double, Jenna Van Hoose went 3-3 and Georgia Cooper went 2-4.
