Chiefs ground Aviators 6-3

Bellefontaine’s baseball team picked up a big win Friday by dropping visiting Vandalia Butler 6-3 in a non-league contest.

The win keeps the Chieftains perfect at 5-0.

Bellefontaine grabbed a run in the bottom of the second inning and then poured in five runs in the bottom of the third inning. That gave the the Chiefs a comfortable 6-0 lead.

The Aviators were able to plate three runs in the top of the fourth, but couldn’t generate any offense after that.

Offensively, Brandon Wilson led with a double and an RBI, Nick Burton had a double, while Tyler Shamblin and Trent Nicholl each had two RBI.

Josh Clifton earned the win on the mound for BHS and recorded an RBI on offense.

Bellefontaine travels to Springfield Shawnee on Monday for a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail meeting.
