Raiders roll past Gophers 12-1

Benjamin Logan’s softball team used a big third inning to put away host Ridgemont on Wednesday in a 12-1 non-league victory.

The Raiders are now 1-1 on the season, while the Gophers fall to 0-3.

Ben Logan led 1-0 after the first inning. After a scoreless second inning, the Raiders used an eight-run burst in the top of the third to grab a 9-0 lead.

Ridgemont scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Raiders went on to add three more runs in the top of the seventh inning to wrap up the win.

Courtney Stewart powered Ben Logan with her arm and bat.

The senior ace picked up the win in the pitching circle with seven strikeouts and did not give up a hit in three innings of work. She also went 2-3 on offense with two RBI and four stolen bases.
