Fate is rapidly approaching as the biggest match in college wrestling history will take place Saturday night at the NCAA championships.
The Match of the Century will see an epic Part Three conclusion between Kyle Dake of Cornell and David Taylor of Penn State. It will become college wrestling’s finest moment.
Barring an incredible upset, senior three-time national champion Dake (32-0) will meet defending junior national champion David Taylor (26-1) in the 165-pound national title match.
These are the moments when sports legends are made.
If Dake wins, he will become just the third four-time national champion in NCAA history and the first wrestler to ever win four national titles at four different weight classes.
If Taylor wins, he becomes a two-time national champion, but more importantly, gains a huge dose of notoriety and respect in the wrestling world. He would also go on to become a probable three-time champion and arguably one of the greatest wrestlers in NCAA history.
