Chieftain squads take fifth at CBC swimming meet

Bellefontaine’s boys and girls swim teams each came away with a fifth-place finish at the Central Buckeye Conference meet Saturday at Wright State University.

The Chieftains recorded 10 medal winners and had two individuals set league records.

“I could not be more proud of this team,” said BHS head coach Sharon Gase. “Nearly every swimmer swam a personal-best time at this meet. The team was very supportive of each other throughout the meet. During every event there were Chiefs cheering each other on.

“The overall team score does not fully represent the accomplishments of this team at the competition. The team takes great pride in everything they do and I can’t wait to see them compete in the OHSAA tournament.”
