Fourth-quarter surge powers Lakers past Falcons

Indian Lake’s girls basketball team turned a two-point deficit into a comfortable victory with a sterling fourth quarter against Graham on Saturday.

The host Lakers trailed 39-37 after three quarters, but outscored the Falcons 21-4 in the final stanza.

“The girls have been doing a good job of finishing off games,” said Indian Lake head coach Tim McMahon. “Earlier in the season, we probably would not have been able to do that. In the last four or five games, we have been playing our best defense and taking better care of the ball in the fourth quarter.”
