West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team overcame a sluggish offensive effort to edge host Northeastern 42-40 on Friday in an Ohio Heritage Conference matchup.
The Tigers shot just 36 percent from the field, but improved their record to 13-5 overall and 9-1 in the OHC.
Landon Hormann powered the Tigers with a game-high 25 points. Grant Burden chipped in with eight points and Travis Mayse had six points.
Northeastern led 12-10 after the opening quarter, but WL-Salem edged the Jets 14-10 in the second quarter to hold a 24-22 edge at halftime.
