Urbana’s boys basketball team was too much to handle in the second half for visiting Indian Lake as the Hillclimbers pulled away for a 56-38 win Friday in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action.
The Hillclimbers boost their record to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the CBC Mad River division. The Lakers fall to 2-9, 2-3.
The first half was closely contested between the two teams. Urbana had a 13-11 lead after the first quarter and led 22-19 lead at halftime.
The Hillclimbers opened up some breathing room in the third quarter with a 14-4 run. That gave them a 36-23 advantage.
Urbana outscored the Lakers 20-15 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Jalon Tuttle led the Lakers with 12 points and Brennon Lump added 11 points.
In junior varsity action, Urbana won 68-34. Isaac Miller paced Indian Lake with 15 points.
The Hillclimbers won the freshman game 58-45. Beau Hefner led Indian Lake with 20 points.
