Cung Le, a legendary kick boxer, a Strikeforce MMA champion and now a star in the Ultimate Fighting Championship series, will be on hand during the Iron Tiger Fight Series event at Bellefontaine High School.
The appearance was arranged by Bellefontaine’s Scott Sheeley, who operates Ohio Fitness and Martial Arts and directs the Iron Tiger operation.
Sheeley and Le first crossed paths as opponents in the kick boxing ring. They became friends and Le’s respect for Sheeley grew to the point where he wanted Sheeley to train him for his UFC fights.
The two are 2-0 while working together in the UFC octagon, with Le coming off a knockout of Rich Franklin in November.
“I am really excited to have Cung in town this weekend,” said Sheeley. “Bellefontaine means a lot to me. This is my home town and I am glad I have the opportunity to pay back our local fans for all of their support over the years.”
