Wapakoneta shoots past Laker girls

Basketball hoops

Visiting Wapakoneta outscored Indian Lake 19-9 in the fourth quarter to grab a 66-57 win over the Lakers in a non-league girls basketball game Monday night.

Indian Lake falls to 6-9 on the season.

“We gave up way too many offensive rebounds,” said Indian Lake head coach Tim McMahon. “They had six or seven baskets on offensive rebounds. You can’t have that.”

IL led 48-47 at the end of the third quarter, but the fourth quarter was a struggle for the Lakers.

“They made some big shots and we missed some big shots,” said McMahon. “Then we had to foul and they made some free throws.”
