Bellefontaine and host Benjamin Logan showed some positive signs Friday, but they each came up short against Coldwater.

The Cavaliers are a very solid Division III squad this season and finished 21st at the district meet last winter. They gave a strong effort Friday and defeated the Chieftains 52-30 before dropping the Raiders 57-16.

Coldwater wrestled very well from the top position and was able to record eight pins out of nine wins against Bellefontaine in the first dual.

“Coldwater has a nice team,” said BHS head coach Rick Reed. “They had a full lineup of kids who were ready to battle. We knew we had an uphill battle. We focused on what we could control and what we could do. We asked our kids to fight and they responded.”
