Mechanicsburg’s girls basketball team pulled away from host Benjamin Logan in the fourth quarter Thursday to grab a 62-56 non-league victory.
The Indians are now 10-1 on the season and the Raiders drop to 9-6.
M’burg held a 15-13 edge after the opening quarter and outscored Ben Logan 14-10 in the second quarter. That gave the Indians a 29-23 lead at halftime.
The Raiders battled back in the third quarter to outscore the Indians 19-11. That put Ben Logan in front with a 42-40 lead.
Mechanicsburg rallied to regain control in the fourth quarter, outscoring the hosts 22-14.
Ciarra Wirick led the Raiders’ efforts with a double-double. She scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. She also had three steals. Jessica Yoder led the team in scoring with 29 points, including five three-pointers.
In junior varsity action, Ben Logan rolled to a 36-19 win over M’burg. Shelby Kramer led the Raiders with seven points.
Ben Logan hosts Greenon on Saturday in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division contest.
