BHS girls defeat Red Devils, Lakers in bowling tri-match


Bellefontaine’s girls bowling team picked up wins over Indian Lake and Tippecanoe in a Central Buckeye Conference tri-match Thursday at T-P Lanes.

The Chiefs finished with a 1,973, Tippecanoe posted 1,890 and Indian Lake had 1,328.

Bellefontaine’s Peighton Wagoner fired a 233 game and she also added a 182 game for a 415 series. Sierra Rhoades contributed a 180 game.

On the boys side, Tippecanoe defeated Bellefontaine and Indian Lake.

The Red Devils posted a 2,572, Bellefontaine had 2,475 and Indian Lake had 2,404.

For the Chieftain boys, Devin Legge had a 415 series (204, 211), Cody Hullinger rolled a 401 series (190, 211), Joey Jacobs recorded a 188 game and Roman Miller added a 180 game.

Cody Bodi led Indian Lake with a 402 series (208, 194). Michael Stevens had a 189 game and Michael O’Connor added a 181 game.

In the junior varsity boys match, Tippecanoe won with 1,995. Bellefontaine was close behind with 1,972 and Indian Lake was third with 1,889. Cale Sterling led the Chiefs with a 442 series (218, 224) and Charlie Carpenter paced the Lakers with a 179.

WL-Salem girls edge Southeastern

West Liberty-Salem’s girls bowling team knocked off Southeastern 1,965-1,907 in an Ohio Heritage Conference match Thursday.

Codi McNutt led the Tigers with a 205 game, Megann Boyd had a 176 game and Emily Crook added a 163 game.

In the boys varsity match, Southeastern won 2,469-2,362.

Phil Davis had a 246 game to spark the Tigers. Garret Rudasill had a 192 game, Austin Randall had a 171 game and Justin Dallas added a 170 game.
