WL-Salem girls elude Jets for OHC victory

West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team received 16 points from Melany Ward en route to a 46-34 win over visiting Northeastern in Ohio Heritage Conference action Saturday night.

The Tigers improve to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the OHC.

WL-Salem took a 16-10 lead after the opening quarter and the Tigers led 20-15 at the break.

Maria Daulton and Alandra Cox both had eight points to aid the Tigers’ victory.

In junior varsity action, WLSalem rolled past Northeastern 54-18. Jamie Peterson led the way for the Tigers with 13 points and Madi Oelker had 11 points.

WL-Salem hosts Greenon on Thursday in non-league action.
