With a five-game win streak, West Liberty-Salem has plenty of momentum for Friday when it hosts Greeneview in a key Ohio Heritage Conference matchup.

The Tigers lost their season opener to a talented Springfield Shawnee team, but have rattled off five straight wins for a 5-1 record.

“That has certainly boosted our confidence,” said WL-Salem head coach Aaron Hollar. “We feel we played pretty well in our season opener. To come back with five wins has been good for everyone.

“We had such a limited preseason because several of our guys were in the football playoffs. There are so many things we can still improve on. That has been the beauty of it all, that we have been able to teach and learn while winning. That has been nice. We hope to keep taking steps forward and keep this winning streak going.”
