It was the dose of medicine Bellefontaine’s girls basketball team sorely needed.

The Chieftains snapped a three-game losing streak by holding steady in the final minutes against visiting Tippecanoe to come away with a 64-57 Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail victory Thursday night.
Bellefontaine (5-3, 2-1) had lost its last two games by three points or less, but refused to wither down the stretch against the Red Devils (2-5, 1-2).
“There were two big things we took from this win,” said BHS girls head coach Brian Hogan. “First, it got us back on track. Second, it was an important league win. It’s been a while since we beat Tippecanoe, so any time we can beat them is always good to see.”
