Jason Malone describes his Triad girls basketball squad as a streaky outside shooting team. The Cardinals got on a hot streak early and never cooled off Wednesday night.
Triad knocked down nine three-point baskets to get past visiting Benjamin Logan 60-51 in a non-league game.
The Cardinals are now 4-2, while the Raiders drop to 2-4.
Triad had more three-pointers than two-point buckets (7) against the Raiders.
“The three-point shooting was the difference in the game,” said Malone. “We probably average five three-pointers a game. We have not been a great three-point shooting team this year, but we were able to get nine of them tonight. Last year against them, we made 11. We hit threes tonight when we really needed them.”
