Tigers looking to ride hot streak into battle with Jets

WL-Salem boys aiming for fourth straight win

It is still early in the season, but West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team is off to a hot start.

The Tigers lost their season opener before bouncing back with three consecutive wins. They are looking to extend their winning streak Friday when they host Northeastern in an Ohio Heritage Conference contest.

WL-Salem (3-1 overall, 2-0 in the OHC) fell to Springfield Shawnee to start the year. Since, the Tigers have recorded victories over Graham (52-48), Mechanicsburg (84-64) and Southeastern (63-60).

“We are thrilled how we’ve bounced back from our opener,” said WL-Salem head coach Aaron Hollar. “Our key has been our balanced scoring in all three wins. It was neat to see three of our guys score 15 points against Mechanicsburg. When we played Southeastern we had guys with 16, 15 and 14 points. The balance on offense has been a huge part of our three-game win streak.
