Slow to start, but quick to finish, the Indian Lake girls basketball team showcased its grit Wednesday against visiting Springfield Shawnee.

The Lakers overcame a 10-point deficit in the first half to rally past the Braves for a 59-51 win in Central Buckeye Conference crossover action.
“They fought back,” said Indian Lake head coach Tim McMahon of his girls. “They had to sell out and play defense in the second half. In the first quarter, there was no defense. Shawnee was just throwing shots up and they were going in.”
It was a sluggish start for Indian Lake (3-3).
