Hormann, Burden lead WL-Salem to win over Graham

Landon Hormann and Grant Burden combined for 35 points as West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team picked up a big non-league win Tuesday over host Graham.

The Tigers (1-1) trailed 33-31 entering the final quarter, but outscored the Falcons 21-15 in the final eight minutes to pull out the win.

Hormann powered the Tigers with 18 points, while Burden scored 17 points.

Also for WL-Salem, Travis Mayse had nine points and Max Bailey had six points.

The Tigers hit five three-pointers on the night and had a strong free-throw shooting effort, hitting 15-of-18 foul shots.

Grant Goddard paced Graham with a game-high 22 points. Floyd Lowery added 12 points for the Falcons.

In the reserve game, WL-Salem won 53-39. Ross Kelley led the Tigers with 17 points and Kris Bruns added 12 points.

WL-Salem returns to action Friday at home against Mechanicsburg.
