Benjamin Logan rebounded from an opening-round loss to beat Riverside 54-38 on Saturday in the consolation round of the Raiders’ Tip-Off Classic.
The Raiders are now 1-1 on the season, while Riverside drops to 0-2.
It was a back-and-forth first half. Riverside jumped out to a 16-10 lead after one quarter, but Ben Logan outscored the Pirates 19-12 in the second period to jump ahead 29-28 at halftime.
Ben Logan then dominated the second half. The Raiders used a 12-3 run in the third quarter to lead 41-31.
The Raiders wrapped up the win by outscoring the Pirates 13-7 in the final period.
“Turnovers were the difference,” said Riverside head coach Don Epps. “We came out and played pretty well in the first half, but we just didn’t execute in the second half. We didn’t take care of the basketball.”
