Kenton’s girls basketball team used a late surge to down visiting Benjamin Logan 59-54 on Wednesday in a non-league contest.
The loss drops the Raiders to 0-3 on the season.
Kenton jumped in front with an 18-8 run in the opening quarter.
Ben Logan fought back in the second quarter and outscored the Wildcats 20-15 to make the score 33-28 at halftime.
The Raiders shot in front in the third quarter with a 16-8 run. That gave Ben Logan a 44-41 lead.
Kenton grabbed the lead back in the final period, though. The hosts outscored the Raiders 18-10 in the quarter to pull out the victory.
Ciarra Wirick paced the Raiders’ efforts with 11 points, six assists and seven steals. Jessica Yoder added 11 points, Domonique Johnson had 10 points and Brooklyn Terrill contributed eight points and 14 rebounds.
The Raiders won the junior varsity contest 46-21, with Natalie Drumm recording nine points.
Ben Logan is back in action Wednesday at home against Tippecanoe for Central Buckeye Conference action.
