16 local football players earn first-team CBC honors

Indian Lake’s Henderson, Raiders’ Brisson receive player of year honors

Indian Lake and Benjamin Logan’s football teams each had a large group of first-team players on the all-Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division squad.

The Lakers finished runner-up in the CBC Mad River division, while the Raiders were third. They combined for 13 first-team selections.

Logan junior Jeremy Brisson, who set a new single-season rushing record this year for the Raiders, shared co-offensive player of the year honors with Urbana’s Nathan Mays and Northwestern’s Hunter Houseman.

For the Kenton Trail division, Tecumseh’s Christian Evans was offensive player of the year and Springfield Shawnee’s Drew Young was defensive player of the year.

Earning first-team CBC Mad River division selections for Indian Lake were Henderson, Chris Teague, Ben Wahl, Ethan Downing, Mason Evilsizor and Evan Zorn, while Ben Logan had Brisson, Beau Harmon, Landon Johnson, Tanner Penwell, Beau Swank, Brent Weiss and Matt Wilt on the first team.

Landing spots on the CBC Kenton Trail first team for Bellefontaine were Auston Benton, Zach Gingerich and Logan Mitchell.
