A fresh start, a new opportunity, a new season.
After coming up short in qualifying to the state playoffs for the past several years, Triad’s football program was able to get over the hump this fall.
The seventh-seeded Cardinals (8-2) are preparing to take on second-seeded Cincinnati Summit Country Day (10-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday in a Division V regional quarterfinal game at Madeira High School.
This marks Triad’s first playoff appearance since 2006 and the program’s third overall.
After nearly making the playoffs three times in the past five years, the Cardinals are more than ready for another shot in the postseason.
“Everybody is just excited,” said Triad head coach Payton Printz. “This is a great opportunity for us to play an extra game, and hopefully, more. We’ve been on the outside looking in lately and now we are back. I’m real happy for the kids and especially our seniors.”
