Fairbanks locked up a share of the Northwest Central Conference championship Friday with a 41-13 win over visiting Riverside.
The Panthers finished the season on a four-game winning streak. They move to 5-5 overall record and 5-1 in the NWCC. Fairbanks tied Ft. Loramie for the league crown.
Despite the rain, the Panthers threw for 167 yards compared and nearly matched the visitors’ ground game, rushing for 93 yards to Riverside’s 104.
Fairbanks held Riverside scoreless in the first quarter while picking up two touchdowns on a 16-yard run by Hayden Dillon and a 25-yard pass from Hunter Burnett to Phillip Gibson. Both extra-point attempts failed, leaving Fairbanks ahead 12-0.
