It is the beginning to the end for one of the most talented cross country classes to race at West Liberty-Salem High School.

The current group of WL-Salem seniors has been to three state meets and finished fifth in 2009, fourth in 2010 and third last fall. The seniors’ final postseason run at a Division III state championship begins with the district tournament Saturday at the Miami Valley Career Technical Center in Clayton.
“The girls are fully aware of what is going on and that this is their last shot,” said WL-Salem girls head coach Ann Vogel. “We want to go in and have a solid race, get some personal bests and confidence under our belts. That way we can build on that going into the next few races.”
