Jones having successful first season at Urbana

Indian Lake High School graduate Maci Jones has enjoyed a strong first season on the Urbana University volleyball team.

Jones, an outside hitter, has played in all 22 matches this season. She is the only freshman on the squad to record at least one kill and one point in every match. During Urbana’s recent 5-3 streak, Jones had 24 kills and just eight hitting errors in her last 84 attempts. She recorded a season-high six kills in a win vs. Ursuline and a season-best five blocks in a loss to Wittenberg.

Currently, Jones is fourth on the team in kills (64) and blocks (17).
