When a team is faced with adversity, the true test is how it responds.
Indian Lake’s football squad has been resilient after a rocky start to the season and has now won three consecutive games.
The Lakers will try to ride their new-found momentum into Friday’s home matchup against Greenon for a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division matchup.
“Obviously in the middle part of the season you are looking to eliminate any major mistakes,” said Indian Lake head coach Dave Coburn. “I’ve felt over the last few games we have been able to do that for the most part. With the weather conditions we’ve had lately, I’m proud of our guys and how they’ve been able to overcome all the adversity.”
After starting the season 1-3, the Lakers are now 4-3. The three-game winning streak includes a 2-0 start in CBC Mad River division play.
“To compete for a league title we realize it’s not a one-game playoff,” said Coburn. “It’s a five-game playoff and you have to win week in and week out in order to do that. Greenon is next on the agenda and our focus is solely on them this week.”
