Bellefontaine’s volleyball team lost to host Tippecanoe in straight sets Wednesday in the Chiefs’ final regular-season match.
The Red Devils won 25-14, 25-19, 25-23.
The Chiefs fall to 13-8 overall and 4-6 in the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division. The Red Devils are now 11-11, 5-5.
Carley Strzalka, Jordan Lininger, Jessica Kinchen and Whitney Rader all were perfect serving for the Chiefs. Shelbi Kauffman had 18 digs, Kameren Haley had eight kills, Kenzie Brunswick tallied seven kills, Jaelyn Jester notched 14 assists, Jazmyn Haley had six kills and Peighton Wagoner added four kills.
Bellefontaine’s junior varsity team lost 16-25, 25-20, 25-17.
The Chiefs open Division II sectional tournament action at 6:30 p.m. Saturday against Graham at Tecumseh High School.
Ridgemont falls to Cory-Rawson
Ridgemont’s volleyball team was defeated by Cory-Rawson 25-10, 25-18, 25-11 in non-league play Wednesday.
For the Gophers, Whitney Arseneau had three kills, five digs and was 7-7 serving, Megan Robinson was 6-6 serving with one ace, Amber Creviston had seven digs and was 5-5 serving and Logan Hill was 5-5 serving with one ace and 44-46 setting.
The junior varsity Gophers were defeated 22-25, 25-18, 25-22. For Ridgemont, Brooke Stewart was 12-12 serving, Alyssa Whitaker was 10-10 serving with four aces and Shelby Christian was 9-11 serving with one ace and four kills.
Ridgemont is back in action Saturday at Tiffin Calvert.
