WL-Salem girls blitz Triad 10-0

West Liberty-Salem’s girls soccer team put on a dominating performance Tuesday at it raced past host Triad 10-0 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

Melany Ward powered the Tigers on offense with four goals and an assist, while Shonda Gieseke added two goals and one assist.

Also for WL-Salem, Kelsi Dowden had one goal and one assist, Annika Wolfe, Morgan Freyhof and Savannah Marceau each had one goal and Ashleigh Gieseke added two assists.

Defensively, April Kelley recorded one save at goal.

Both teams play again Thursday. WL-Salem hosts Springfield Catholic Central and Triad travels to Greeneview.

Triad drops WL-Salem

Triad’s boys soccer team battled to a 3-0 win over visiting West Liberty-Salem on Tuesday in an Ohio Heritage Conference matchup.

Devin Byrd scored all three goals for the Cardinals, while Josh Watson recorded 18 saves at goalkeeper.

Triad travels to Greeneview on Thursday and WL-Salem hosts Springfield Catholic Central.

Fairbanks tops Ben Logan

Fairbanks’ boys soccer team earned a 3-0 win over host Benjamin Logan on Tuesday in a non-league matchup.

The Raiders fall to 2-12-1 on the season.

Ben Logan hosts Greenon on Thursday in CBC action.
