Bellefontaine grabs non-league win over Riverside

Bellefontaine’s volleyball team upended Riverside 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 on Monday in a non-league match.

The Chieftains improve to 14-6 overall.

Kameren Haley paced BHS with 10 kills, Carley Strzalka and Whitney Rader were perfect serving, Jaelyn Jester had 12 assists, Jordan Lininger had 10 assists, Jazmyn Haley, Kenzie Brunswick and Jessica Kinchen each tallied five kills, Peighton Wagoner had three kills and Shelbi Kauffman had 13 digs.

For the Pirates, Stephanie Newland had seven kills, three digs, one ace and one block, Brooke Hickey had eight assists, three kills, three digs and two points, Kerri Meade had three kills and two blocks, Samantha Egbert had two aces, five points, nine assists and two kills, Jessica Davis had two kills, three points and one dig and Morgan Robison had four digs and two points.

In junior varsity action, Bellefontaine won over Riverside 25-16, 19-25, 25-17.

Bellefontaine hosts Tecumseh today in a Central Buckeye Conference matchup, while Riverside travels to Lima Temple Christian on Thursday for Northwest Central Conference action.

WL-Salem drops Cedarville

West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team dropped host Cedarville in three sets Monday 25-12, 25-13, 25-13 for an Ohio Heritage Conference victory.

The Tigers improve to 11-10 overall.

Jamie Peterson led WL-Salem with 14 kills, seven digs, three aces and two blocks, while Autumn Klinger had 22 assists and five kills, Kylee Hormann had eight kills and Courtney Milliron added 22 digs and four aces.

In junior varsity action, Cedarville won 25-16, 16-25, 26-24.

WL-Salem hosts Northeastern on Thursday in OHC action.

Southeastern tops Triad

Southeastern’s volleyball team defeated visiting Triad 25-14, 25-17, 28-26 on Monday in an Ohio Heritage Conference matchup.

The Cardinals fall to 8-13 overall and 5-9 in the OHC.

Dayna Ober led Triad with 13 points, nine kills, two blocks and six digs, Anna McKenzie had 11 points and 10 assists, Maddi Ehrenborg had 11 points, 10 assists, seven digs and two kills, Hannah Watkins had 11 points and 10 assists and two kills and Sabrina Thompson added six kills.

In junior varsity action, Southeastern won 25-16, 25-9. Chelsea Price had seven points for the Cardinals.

Triad travels to Mechanicsburg on Thursday for OHC action.

W-Goshen drops Gophers

Waynesfield-Goshen’s volleyball team dropped visiting Ridgemont 25-21, 25-16, 25-15 on Monday in Northwest Central Conference action.

For the Gophers, Logan Hill was 37-39 setting, 5-6 serving with one ace, Riley Drumm was 9-14 hitting, 7-8 serving with four kills and one ace, Amber Creviston was 8-8 serving, 12-17 serves received with 16 digs and one ace, Megan Robinson was 10-14 hitting, 6-6 serving with three kills and two digs and Sam Hardin was 23-23 setting and 6-6 serving.

In junior varsity action, Ridgemont won 25-18, 24-26, 25-10. Brooke Stewart was 48-48 setting and 5-6 serving, Shelby Christian was 8-11 hitting, 13-14 serving with five digs, two kills and three aces and Hanna Organ was 8-8 hitting, 13-14 serving with four aces and two kills.

Ridgemont hosts Cory-Rawson on Wednesday in non-league action.
