Three former Bellefontaine High School football players are enjoying undefeated seasons at the college level this fall.
Zach Vermillion is a starting offensive lineman for an Ashland team that is 5-0 and ranked ninth in the country in NCAA Division II. The 6-4, 283-pound Vermillion is in his junior season for Ashland.
Another former Chieftain offensive lineman, Chris Badenhop, has helped his Ohio Wesleyan football squad to a 4-0 start. Badenhop is a junior who sees time on the offensive line and on special teams for the Bishops.
Serving in a different capacity, but also involved with a team that has yet to lose a game this fall, is Dak Notestine. Notestine earned a scholarship as a defensive lineman at Ohio University after walking on to the program. His playing career ended a couple of years ago, but he is now a graduate assistant coach for the Bobcats. Ohio is off to a 5-0 start, including a win at Penn State in the season opener.
