Bellefontaine’s girls golf team battled the rain Tuesday in the Division I girls sectional golf tournament at Beavercreek Golf Club.
The Chiefs saw their season come to an end as they shot a 456.
“It was a very miserable day (with the weather),” said BHS coach Jane Kline. “It rained from the first tee to the last, but the girls stayed with it all day.”
Chelsea McLaughlin led Bellefontaine with a 99. Allie Skelly had a 109, Kathleen Coakley shot a 117, Sarah Hall had a 131 and Laryn Newman had a 143.
The top four teams and the four lowest individuals not on a qualifying team earned spots in the district tournament.
Centerville won the sectional with a 332. Tippecanoe was second with a 352, Miamisburg shot a 375 for third and Troy took the final qualifying spot with a 384.
The four individual qualifiers were Beavercreek’s Gabby Marcum (74), Bellbrook’s Miranda Greene (74) and Haylie Gazda (84) and Springboro’s Maddie Durbin (90).
Tippecanoe’s Lindsey Murray was the tournament medalist with a 73.
