Bellefontaine trying to get refocused as powerful Tippecanoe squad looms

Deflated from a 28-24 loss to rival Indian Lake, Bellefontaine’s football team cannot afford to dwell on what went wrong against the Lakers.



Bellefontaine will attempt to slow down a Tippecanoe running game that has rolled up over 1,700 yards through five games.

The Chiefs travel to Tippecanoe on Friday in the opening week of Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division play to face an undefeated Red Devils team that has outscored its opponents 241-20 this fall.

“I think this week is more about us than it is about the opponent,” said BHS head coach Chris Schmidt. “We need to see how we respond and what frame of mind we are in after (the Indian Lake loss).

“For the most part, our kids have done a pretty good job of bouncing back this week in practice. A lot of times kids seem to be more resilient than adults.”
