Riverside senior Heather Comer finished fourth as an individual at the Division II girls sectional golf tournament Monday at WGC Golf Course in Xenia.
Comer fired a round of 92 to advance to the district tournament and becomes the first female golfer from Riverside to qualify to districts.
The top four teams and top four individuals Monday moved on to the district tournament next week at Pipestone Golf Course.
“Heather has been working four years now to get past this sectional tournament,” said Riverside girls head coach Andy Phelps. “The girls have to compete in a very tough sectional against a lot of good golfers, and for Heather to make it out in her senior year is just amazing. She has really worked hard this season to improve her game to get to this point.”
The Pirates’ Destany Jones was also in action and carded a 118.
Benjamin Logan’s girls golf team also competed at the sectional tournament, but did not qualify anyone through to the district level.
Domonique Johnson led the Raiders with a 96, Morgan Fultz and Jessie Dodson both carded 99s, Mark Kerns had a 114 and Madison Leis added a 131.
The Raiders finished the season with a 10-4 record.
