Storms wreak havoc on prep football schedule

Area teams have to wait until today to finish their games

Friday night’s storms did a lot of damage to the local high school football schedule.

All but one of the six local games were postponed and rescheduled for today.

The Bellefontaine at Indian Lake game was stopped a minute and a half into the first quarter. It has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. today.

Benjamin Logan’s home game against Tippecanoe was halted right after the opening kickoff and it will now be played at 10 a.m. today. The junior varsity game between the Chiefs and Lakers has been canceled.

Riverside’s contest at Sidney Lehman was stopped in the middle of the second quarter, with Lehman winning 19-0. It will resume at 10 a.m. today.

Triad’s game at Northeastern came to a stop in the second quarter, with the Cardinals leading 21-7. It will pick up at 7 p.m. tonight.

The Upper Scioto Valley at Ridgemont game was suspended with 3:31 left in the second quarter, with the Gophers ahead 29-14. The contest resumes at 3 p.m. today.
