Rutan leads Tigers to win over Mechanicsburg

Jacob Rutan carded a 36 to lead West Liberty-Salem’s boys golf team to a 165-221 win over Mechanicsburg in an Ohio Heritage Conference match Tuesday at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

Supporting Rutan were Nick Sims with a 39, Ethan McBean with a 43 and Casey Gay with a 47.

Also for the Tigers, Matt Kauffman had a 53 and Zach Smith shot a 58.

WL-Salem is now 12-2 in league play and plays in the OHC tournament today at Reid Park in Springfield.
