Bellefontaine’s boys soccer team rode a strong start against visiting Northwestern on Monday and came away with a 3-1 victory in Central Buckeye Conference action.

The win improves the Chieftains to 5-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the CBC, while the Warriors drop to 2-4-1, 1-4.
“I feel good about this win as a whole,” said BHS boys head coach Steve Henry. “We possessed well and we were in good positions defensively. Our biggest sticking point is finishing the plays in the final third of the field. We shot over 30 times and put three in. That’s not going to get it done when we play the Tipp City-caliber teams.
“These seniors are learning to win and that will be very valuable the further along we get. Next is Indian Lake and they have a pretty potent attack that we’ll need to try and shut down. It should be a fun match.”
