WL-Salem picks up OHC victory over Northeastern


Pirates cruise to non-league win over Tipp City Bethel

West Liberty-Salem’s varsity volleyball team rallied to grab a 25-27, 25-13, 25-20, 25-12 Ohio Heritage Conference victory Monday at Northeastern.

The Tigers are now 6-4 on the season.

Jamie Peterson sparked WL-Salem with 18 kills, Rachel Loffing had seven kills, 11 digs and three aces, Kylee Hormann had nine kills, Courtney Milliron had 18 digs and four aces and Autumn Klinger added 18 assists.

In junior varsity action, WL-Salem won 25-10, 25-27, 25-21.

For the Tigers, Kylie Gilroy had 16 assists and four kills, while Taylor LeVan and Mollie Etgen each added six kills to aid the win.

WL-Salem hosts Springfield Catholic Central on Thursday in OHC action.

Pirates sink Bethel in non-league match

Riverside’s volleyball team rolled past visiting Bethel in three sets Monday 25-7, 25-22, 25-19 in a non-league contest.

Brooke Hickey led the Pirates with 10 aces, 19 points, four kills and nine assists, Stephanie Newland had six kills, four aces and eight digs, Kerri Meade had six kills, Karli Lump had eight points, two aces and three kills and Morgan Robison added six digs and three aces.

In junior varsity action, the Pirates won in three sets with Abby Proffitt recording eight aces.

Riverside travels to Ridgemont on Thursday in NWCC action.

Triad falls to M’burg in OHC plays

Mechanicsburg’s volleyball team defeated host Triad 25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23 on Monday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

The Cardinals are now 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the OHC.

Anna McKenize led Triad with 20 points, 13 assists and four aces, Dayna Ober had 16 points, 13 kills and six digs, Jenna Welty had 15 points, seven kills and eight digs and Hannah Watkins added nine points, 12 assists and two kills.

In junior varsity action, M’burg beat Triad 25-15, 16-25, 25-18. For the Cardinals, Chelsea Price had 14 points and eight assists, Sabrina Thompson had 11 points, five kills and two aces and Lydia Walls added 11 points.

Triad hosts Greeneview on Thursday in OHC action.
