WL-Salem boys and girls record soccer wins

West Liberty-Salem’s boys soccer team pulled away from host Northeastern for a 7-4 victory Tuesday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

The Tigers improve to 2-4-1 overall and 2-1 in the OHC. The Jets fall to 0-6 on the season.

WL-Salem built a 5-1 lead at halftime with two goals from Ricky Lowe and one goal each from Felix Oehring, Will Hagstrom and Byler Williamson.

Oehring added a second goal in the second half and Cole McDaniel scored the final goal for the Tigers.

Grant Burden provided three assists, McDaniel had two assists and Tyler LeVan added one assist.

Defensively, Sam Warye had two saves at goal.

WL-Salem hosts Triad on Thursday in a local OHC contest.

GIRLS SOCCER

WL-Salem clips Northeastern

West Liberty-Salem’s girls soccer team edged host Northeastern 2-1 Tuesday in an Ohio Heritage Conference matchup.

The Tigers are now 3-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the OHC.

Ashleigh Gieseke and Shonda Gieseke each scored a goal for WL-Salem’s offense, while Annika Wolfe and Morgan Freyhof were credited with assists.

Defensively, April Kelley had seven saves at goal.

WL-Salem hosts Triad on Thursday.
