Tiger boys ground Cardinals in OHC golf meeting


West Liberty-Salem’s boys golf team continues to power along after handling visiting Triad 159-202 on Wednesday in an Ohio Heritage Conference match at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

The Tigers are now 7-2 in OHC play and the Cardinals fall to 0-9.

There was a three-way tie for match medalist between WL-Salem’s Nick Sims and Jacob Rutan and Triad’s Seth Donohoe. All three golfers fired a low of 37.

Other Tigers aiding in the win were Ethan McBean with a 42, Casey Gay with a 43, Matt Kauffman with a 51 and Zach Smith with a 60.

For the Cardinals, Ryan Kaylor carded a 48, Summer Detrick had a 53 and Kole Smith added a 64.

WL-Salem hosts Southeastern today in OHC action at Liberty Hills Golf Club, while Triad hosts Springfield Catholic Central at Woodland Golf Club.

Ben Logan gets win over Greenon

Benjamin Logan’s boys golf team dropped visiting Greenon 156-196 on Wednesday in a Central Buckeye Conference meeting at Tree Links Golf Course.

Blaine Ricketts fired a 36 for medalist honors and led the Raiders, while Jordan Sosby was close behind with a 39.

Also for Ben Logan, Ed Kenoyer carded a 40, Grant Ricketts shot a 41, Mason Cline had a 43 and Cole Saylor added a 44.

Ben Logan hosts Indian Lake and Riverside today in a local tri-match at Tree Links Golf Course.

Indian Lake falls to Warriors

Indian Lake’s boys golf team lost to Northwestern 161-191 in a Central Buckeye Conference match Wednesday at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Northwestern’s Zach Petticrew was the medalist with a 36.

For the Lakers, Caleb Meadows had a 37, Randall Henson shot a 44, Jake Frost had a 54 and Timmy Arvin added a 56.
