Bellefontaine’s girls tennis team suffered a 3-2 loss to host Greenon on Wednesday in a Central Buckeye Conference match.
The Chiefs fall to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the CBC.
“There were a lot of competitive sets, but they were a little more consistent than we were,” said Bellefontaine coach Jim Stein.
The Chiefs won at third singles with Kiersten Daum and at first doubles with Hannah Weimer and Michelle Frantz.
Daum defeated Kristen Ward 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, while the duo of Weimer and Frantz prevailed 6-4, 6-2 over Katlyn Bardwell.
Greenon’s Megan Reed won 6-2, 6-2 over Kenzie Collinsworth at first singles and the Knights’ Shelby Marshall took a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win over Madeline Houser at second singles.
In the second doubles match, Greenon’s Marissa Brown and Kirsten Diviak won 6-2, 6-3 over Kylee Jenkins and Ashley Enderle.
In a reserve doubles match, Bellefontaine’s Brandy Cole and Traysa Downing lost 6-0.
Bellefontaine is back in action today at Springfield Shawnee.
