The Chieftains are now 1-1-1 and 0-0-1 in the CBC.
“Soccer sometimes is not a just game,” said BHS head coach Steve Henry. “I thought that we were the stronger team, but we just couldn’t get the quality passes in the attacking third. So when we failed to score and the game got later and later, we started to get desperate.”
The teams battled to a scoreless first half, but BHS quickly found the back of the goal in the second half. Josh Neighoff scored on a penalty kick for the game’s first goal at the 33:22 mark.
Graham scored less than a minute later on a penalty kick for a 1-1 tie with 32:34 remaining. Neither squad was able to score the rest of the game.
“It was chaos for the last 20 minutes,” said Henry. “I was very pleased with our play for the first part of the game. We moved very well, and had a lot of chances. We just couldn’t convert.”
There was no junior varsity game.
