Chiefs zap Tigers

Bellefontaine’s volleyball team swept visiting West Liberty-Salem in three sets 25-20, 25-21, 25-20 on Monday in a local non-league contest.

Jaelyn Jester sparked the Chieftains going 23-23 serving with 32 assists, while Jessica Kinchen had 17 digs and seven kills.

Also aiding BHS were Shelbi Kauffman with 12 digs, Kenzie Brunswick with 12 digs and nine kills, Kameren Haley with nine kills and three blocks and Peighton Wagoner with six kills and three blocks.

For the Tigers, Autumn Klinger had 14 assists, eight digs and four kills, Courtney Milliron had nine digs, Jamie Peterson had eight kills and eight digs and Kylee Hormann added seven kills and four digs.

In junior varsity action, Bellefontaine won 25-16, 25-16. Savannah Bryson went 10-10 serving and Emma Smith went 8-8 serving.

Bellefontaine hosts Springfield Shawnee today in Central Buckeye Conference action and WL-Salem travels to Springfield Catholic Central tonight for Ohio Heritage Conference action.
