WL-Salem boys bounce back with victory

After suffering a rare league loss earlier in the week, West Liberty-Salem’s boys golf team rebounded with a victory over host Greeneview 170-210 on Thursday at Sebastian Hills Golf Course in an Ohio Heritage Conference meeting.

The Tigers are now 3-1 in OHC action.

“It was good to see us bounce back from a disappointing loss earlier in the week,” said WL-Salem boys head coach Darrin Leichty. “We were much better around the greens, which led to better scores.”

Jacob Rutan and Nick Sims were co-medalists for the Tigers with 39s, Ethan McBean shot a 42, Casey Gay had a 50, Zach Smith carded a 51 and Matt Kauffman added a 58.

WL-Salem travels to Northeastern on Monday in OHC action.
